WhatsApp COD Confirmation Message Templates in Arabic and English

Ten copy-paste WhatsApp COD confirmation templates in English and Modern Standard Arabic, plus timing and tone rules that get customers to reply.

A good COD confirmation template names your store, states the order number, items, delivery address, and the exact cash amount, then asks one clear question the customer can answer with a single word. Below are ten copy-paste templates in English and Modern Standard Arabic covering confirmation, reminders, delivery day, and rescheduling.

WhatsApp confirmation is the cheapest RTO reduction available: vendor industry reporting credits it with cutting COD returns 30 to 40 percent, and WhatsApp reaches about 33 million users in Saudi Arabia, roughly 87 percent of social media users (DataReportal). Replace the bracketed variables, submit the templates for WhatsApp Business approval, and you are running.

What makes a confirmation template actually get replies?

  • One message, one question. Every extra question halves your reply rate. Ask for the yes; handle changes in the follow-up.

  • The exact amount, always. Cash surprises at the door are a top refusal reason. State the total including shipping and any COD fee.

  • Read the address back. It catches wrong addresses while fixing them is still free.

  • Match the customer's language. Arabic checkout, Arabic confirmation. The MSA templates below are understood in every Arab market; a dialect version reads even warmer.

  • Send within minutes. Confirmation reply rates decay with every hour after checkout.

When should each template fire?

MomentTemplateWhy it matters
Minutes after checkout1, 2, or 7Catches the buyer while intent is hottest
24 hours, no reply3 or 8Last inexpensive chance before cancellation
On confirmation, thin address4Location pins rescue first-attempt delivery
On dispatch5 or 9Kills WISMO tickets before they start
Morning of delivery6 or 10Cash ready at the door, reschedules handled in chat

Orders still unconfirmed 48 hours after checkout should be cancelled and restocked; the reasoning is in our COD Order Confirmation via WhatsApp for Shopify: Setup Guide.

How do you adapt these for your brand?

  1. Keep the structure, change the voice. The variables and the single question are load bearing; the greeting and warmth are yours to adjust.

  2. Localize the dialect if you can. MSA is safe everywhere, but a Saudi store writing in Gulf dialect or an Egyptian store in Egyptian Arabic gets noticeably better engagement.

  3. Mind gender in Arabic. Verbs and address forms change with the customer's gender. Get it wrong and the message reads robotic; get it right and it reads human.

  4. Submit templates for approval early. WhatsApp Business requires pre-approved templates for business-initiated messages, so build the variable structure exactly as you will send it.

What does this look like with ReplAi?

Templates handle the outbound half. The inbound half, the customer replying "yes but can you make it Saturday" or asking a question in Franco-Arabic, is where automation earns its keep. ReplAi sends these confirmation flows and understands the replies in Egyptian, Gulf, and Levantine Arabic, Arabizi, and English, with gender-aware addressing built in. It updates the Shopify order from the conversation and, measured across our merchants, automates about 80 percent of messages with replies in under 14 seconds. Your team can take over any thread from the same inbox.

Frequently asked questions

Should I send confirmations in Arabic or English in the Gulf?

Match the language the customer used at checkout or in chat. In KSA and the UAE that means Arabic for most local customers and English for expat-heavy segments. When in doubt, MSA is universally understood; dialect versions perform better but must be written correctly.

Do these templates need WhatsApp approval before I can use them?

Business-initiated messages on the WhatsApp Business Platform must use pre-approved templates, so yes: submit each as a utility template with the bracketed parts as variables. Replies within a live conversation window do not need templates, which is why the back-and-forth after the customer responds can be free-form.

Can I ask for the location pin in the first message?

You can, but reply rates drop when the first message asks for two things. Better sequence: get the yes first, then ask for the pin (template 4) only for orders where the typed address looks incomplete. Confirmed customers share pins willingly.

How many reminders are too many?

One. A confirmation plus one reminder at 24 hours captures nearly everyone who was ever going to reply. A second or third reminder yields little and starts feeling like pressure, which damages the brand relationship the confirmation was meant to build.
